China will provide continued help and offer necessary assistance to Nepal in fighting against the COVID-19 pandemic, said Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi in a phone call with Nepali Foreign Minister Pradeep Kumar Gyawali on Monday.

Facing the challenge to guard against imported cases and a rebound in indigenous cases, China stays committed to a community with a shared future for mankind, and will continue to provide necessary assistance in time of need, Wang said.

For his part, Gyawali spoke highly of the efforts China made to combat the virus, and its active participation with the world, which played a positive role in promoting the success of the G20 Summit.

Gyawali said that the international community will finally defeat the disease with the leadership of China, appreciating the medical supplies China offered to his country.

In a phone conversation with Moussa Faki Mahamat, chairperson of the African Union (AU) Commission, Wang confirmed that China will offer more medical supplies to Africa.

Amid the outbreak, China will continue experience-sharing and other exchanges with African brothers, send medical experts and assist African countries with material purchase in China, said Wang.

China's focus is on protecting the health and security of our citizens and foreigners, Wang said, reiterating that all foreigners are treated equally and China rejects differential treatment.

As comprehensive strategic partners, Wang called on China and Africa to strengthen cooperation to jointly fight the virus.

During our most difficult times combating the disease, Africa offered us strong support with holding a clear position on opposing some individual countries that are trying to politicize the virus, Wang noted, underscoring the brotherly friendship and sophistication of China-Africa cooperation.

In response, Faki thanked China for extending a helping hand to Africa while overcoming difficulties at home in the fight against the epidemic.

As comprehensive strategic partners, the destiny of the African people is closely connected with that of the people in China, he added.

No external force, no matter for what intentions or through which means, can stop the development of Africa-China friendly relations, Faki stressed.
