TUSCALOOSA, Ala.- The Alabama men’s basketball team returned home Tuesday evening after their heartbreak loss to Tennessee on Saturday, to take on the twentieth ranked Ole Miss Rebels. UM came into the contest at 14-3 on the season and 4-1 inside the SEC.

After Saturday’s gut wrencher, the Crimson Tide stood at 11-6 overall and 2-3 in the conference. Since the beginning of last season Bama had gone 7-4 against ranked opponents, the rest of the entire league had only accrued six wins total in the same category.

In the first half Alabama gained an early lead and kept it steady for most of the first twenty minutes until the Tide went on a 14-2 run to close out the half taking an 42-26 lead into the break. John Petty lead the team in scoring with twelve points at that mark.

In the second half Alabama continued their first half run extending it out to an 18-2 run. The two schools would trade baskets for the better part of the first ten minutes of the second half until the Crimson Tide hopped out to their biggest lead of the game 59-31.

The team would continue to cruise through the remainder of the half matching their twenty-eight point advantage several times. For the first time this season every player on the roster received playing time.

Bama would roll on to a decisive 74-53 victory improving their record to 12-6 (3-3). The Tide will get back on the road this upcoming weekend as they head out west to take on the Baylor Bears in Waco, Texas this Saturday at 11 am CT.
